Ridge Vent Installation

For APex Roofs

Long Island’s Certified, Trusted and Respected Ridge Vent Installer for 60 Years

Imagine going through the process of installing a new roof, only to find out a few years later that your roof is failing due to heat and moisture buildup. We’ve seen it a thousand times, and we’re always sorry to see it. Too many homeowners who have apex-style roofs trust a company to install their roof, yet the company doesn’t install a roof vent, creating irreversible damage down the road. That’s not the Clearview Roofing way.

We get it, attic ventilation isn’t on the top of your to-do list as a homeowner. It shouldn’t be, it’s our job.

Clearview Roofing is committed to not only providing you with the best roofing options to protect your home, we’re also here to focus on the smaller details, like ridge vents and home moisture levels.

Proper Airflow

When you think of seasonal roof maintenance, you might not think of ventilation. That’s okay, because that’s what we’re here for. Ridge vents are one of the most popular options for attic insulation because they provide proper airflow out of the hot attic space, which reduces heat and moisture buildup.

Extends Lifespand

Installing a ridge vent is a relatively inexpensive option that protects the life of your roof and the quality of your indoor airspace. Not only does it reduce heat buildup, which helps to keep your home more comfortable, it also extends the lifespan of shingles and decreases the chance of ice damaging your roof.

Creates Balance

The vent helps to create a balanced airflow throughout the roof by pulling hot, wet air out of the attic and by keeping debris and unwanted insects out. It’s a foolproof system!

Eric was amazing and amiable! Also very professional, answered all our questions, respectfully and politely and not at all intimidating. We called the Company to help with an urgent roof inspection and they responded immediately and accommodated our availability. We will be definitely using their services for roof installation!

I use Clearview Roofing for all my roofing needs and recently needed a gutter replaced. I called them on Monday, they completed the job on Wednesday and did a great job as usual. Kevin and the team are always very responsive and can be relied on to do a great job at a fair price.

CLEARVIEW Roofing repaired the white aluminum fascia molding that blew off with the recent storm we had. I called and spoke to Chris. After talking to him on the telephone I texted him photos of the aluminum that needed to be replaced. In no time he responded with an estimate that was fair and reasonable. A crew arrived the next day to do the work. Great Job!! Well done! I highly recommend Clearview Roofing!!

Frequently Asked Questions about ventilation

Ridge vents are an essential part of any roofing system as they help remove the hot, moist air from the attic (which prevents mold and mildew from forming) and keep your home cooler in the summer, helping to keep energy bills lower. Additionally, ridge vents help to extend the life of the roof by preventing premature aging of the roof that is caused by trapped heat and moisture.

Installing a ridge vent is common practice when installing a roof. It is important that the vent has an equal intake of cool, fresh air and output of warm, moist air. This ensures that your attic is getting the right amount of ventilation. Once it’s confirmed that air will be moving properly, Clearview Roofing’s team will remove all ridge cap shingles from your roof ridge followed by the cutting on each side of the ridge into the sheathing. Then, they will unroll and fasten the ridge vent to the roof deck, making sure that the vent fits tightly against the end of the ridge vents and that the vent itself lines up with the roof ridge. Once the ridge vent is attached, straps are placed over the joints and nails are used to hold them in place, and ridge caps are installed over the ridge vent per manufacturer required instructions.

A ridge vent can be installed at no additional cost when purchasing a certified roof system from Clearview Roofing. If a ridge vent is added to an existing roof then time, materials and labor must be considered at a price of $12 -$18 a foot.
